Local Music

In the past year, I have listened to a lot more local music in the Dallas area. Most places seem to have some type of music being played, and I think that most of the people or bands are pretty good. There are some bad ones, but I am not talking about those here.

Here are some that stood out to me. They are in no particular order. I am just cleaning up random lists of things that I have on my phone, and I thought that putting it here would be a good idea.

Ryan Berg

This is one of my favorite songs of his.

Something About Chinamen

This band is great, but they are extremely young. From what I remember, they are all 14-16 years old. I was beyond impressed with them. I hope as they get older they can clean up their music some. The lead singer, John Franklin, has a hell of  a voice. The song below tries to show that. They are way better live than most of their videos show.

Justin Pickard

I like the country, folky sound that this guy has. I bought his album at the show, and I listen to it pretty regularly. Most of his stuff seems to pretty upbeat. I didn’t know the song below was a cover of a song the producer of his album wrote. I think that he does it better than the original, but I think it is because of the different tone that his voice has.

Tom Devil and The Wizard

These guys have a funky rock sound going on, and I enjoy listening to them live. They play their music loud and have a ton of fun doing it.

That’s the glory of love. We want the ones we can’t have and crap all over the ones we can.

Slight Leak

I was drinking some coffee this morning at work, and I looked over and saw this. Afterwards, I made a dash to get another cup so the coffee didn’t go everywhere. It added some excitement to the day.
