New Server…

The server that I ordered arrives today, and I am pretty excited about it. It is a HP Proliant DL560. It has Quad Xeon 3.0 GHZ processors and 2GB of ram at the moment. I will probably upgrade the ram at some point. It also has a 73 GB hard drive at the moment. I think that I am going to order another one of those. I think that should be enough space for the small hosting outfit that I am running. I hope that everything runs well on it.

I also hope that the seller on eBay was accurate in his description, and he is not selling me a piece of junk. We will see, but I do not want to have to deal with trying to get my money back on this thing. Everyone cross your fingers that things work as promised.

Play place in Valley View Mall…

Today Delissa and I took A to the play place in Valley View Mall. For those of you who live in the Dallas area, this might already sound like a bad idea, but Delissa had taken him before and said that it was nice because the play are seemed to be geared towards little kids (this was during the week). Today must have been a completely different type of day because there were at least 10 year old kids running around and wrestling each other. It made it hard for A just to walk around because all of the children were running around like chicken with their heads cut off. I am not going back to that one.

For those of you that don’t know the rules of the play places, please read the sign before you enter. If your child is above 42″ tall, he is not allowed in the play place. Also, no food is allowed in the play area. There was a child that was eating Cheetos and throwing them all over the floor. Of course, A tried to eat them all.

A ate chicken today…

Delissa and I met for lunch today for the second day in a row, and I have to say that it is a lot of fun to see my wife and child during the day. Today was extra special because A actually ate meat. Plus, Pei Wei is pretty good for Chinese food. I don’t think that it is the greatest by any means, but it is pretty good if you go there without huge expectations. Delissa had mentioned that A liked eating limes the other day. Well, we actually had limes at lunch today, and we let A try to eat it. I don’t think that today was as successful as the other time, but here is a picture that will show you the funniest thing that I have seen in a while.

Old Navy Sucks…

For those of you who know us, Delissa and I try to get Old Navy coupons every Thursday. This is the day that Old Navy puts them out on their website by hiding them in random locations. Usually, Delissa and I are able to get them pretty easily. We at least get three or four of the $50 off $100, and we have gotten several of the $75 of $100. They have been helpful with buying clothes for ourselves and A, but things have definitely changed on the site.

They have made the way of getting them so random that their is no skill to it. I guess that this is for all of the people who complain about not being able to find them, but I personally think that it is ridiculous. They have dumbed it down so much that is really a game of who can find the most random think on the website and find where that goes. It used to be at least challenging. Here is an example of the old way and the new way.

Old way:

A dog would be on the right bottom corner of the screen, and you could click on him. By clicking on him, you would make him bark, and this would cause a squirrel to run out on the top center of the screen. You then had to click on the squirrel in the time period allotted to get the coupon.

New way:

A bunch of modelquins are in the middle of the screen, and you can cycle through them. There is a random “A.” to the right of the screen. I am pretty is sure it is a shortened form of answer in this case, but you have to grab that and drag it to a model named Amy. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. I have to grab an A. No skill there!

I wish that Old Navy would go back to their old ways on the site. Hopefully. someone from Old Navy will find this post, and they can make a difference in the way this site is working.

My little one…

I was thinking this morning as I was walking the dogs with my son how great it is to be a dad. I have had this thought before, but it really hit me hard this morning. I was carrying Andrew around like I do every morning when I take the dogs out, but today was different for some reason. He just seemed to have so much fun watching the dogs run around. He would move and bend himself in whichever way necessary so that he could see the dogs. At one point, I thought that I was going to drop him because he was doing a matrix type layout towards the ground to reach them. It was a lot of fun, and it made the whole day better.

I think the part the was the best though was when we were coming back upstairs. He was watching the dogs and laughing like usual, but he put his head on my shoulder for over a minute as I walked back up. It was just an awesome feeling this morning. I can easily see why people who have children get pregnant again around this time. I think that you start to forget about all the nights that you spent trying to calm the baby down so that you can sleep. It seems that I can barely remember those days myself, and my son has only been getting better these last few months. We will see if there is another child in our future, but I am just happy with my little boy right now. He is showing his personality more everyday, and I am looking forward to watching him grow.
